How to become a Paramedic

Paramedics Respond to 911 Calls for emergency assistance. Provide first-aid treatment and life support care to sick and injured patients. Education/Training-Paramedics are highly trained requiring 1-2 years of advanced training and capable of advanced medical procedures.

Must pass Licensure exam.

Average Salary: $38,000-$54,000

$45,000-$87,000 for Flight Paramedic

EMT's provide first-aid treatment and life support care to sick and injured patients. Have basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport a patient.

Training: Must complete a 12-18 week course and pass the EMT National exam. 

Average Salary: $27,000-$45,000

How can you become an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician- AEMT

AEMT's provide limited advanced emergency medical and transport of critical patients. Expanded scope of practice beyond EMT including pharmacological interventions to emergency patients. 

Training: Complete the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Course and pass the AEMT exam. 

Average Salary: $27,000-$45,000
