Milburn Public School parents with students entering 8th-11th grades are invited to come to Milburn High School to get hands-on help with completing the Oklahoma's Promise application. The program provides students with free tuition at Oklahoma post-secondary education institutions including college and career technology centers. School staff will be on-hand to assist parents with the application. Parents are encouraged to bring their student’s chrome book but other laptops will be on-hand.
Oklahoma's Promise Requirements: 1) Must be an Oklahoma resident, 2) Must enroll in the 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade, 3) The parents' federal adjusted gross income must not exceed $60K per year. Parents should bring their most recent tax forms.
"Oklahoma’s Promise allows students whose families earn $60,000 or less annually, and who meet academic and conduct requirements to earn a college tuition scholarship. Created in 1992 by the Legislature to help more Oklahoma families send their children to college, Oklahoma’s Promise was originally designated as the Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program. The program is administered by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. " https://www.okhighered.org/okpromise/
